Description
The Other World begins when our individual playing field meets someone else’s. We bring the character developed within our First World into relationships with other players, each carrying their own history, needs, values, expectations, codes, and ways of participating in the game.
This is where we begin learning who we are in connection. Attraction, friendship, family, partnership, intimacy, collaboration, conflict, boundaries, responsibility, and shared resources all become part of the playing field. Other players offer experiences we cannot create alone. Through them, parts of ourselves become visible that may remain hidden when we are by ourselves.
Exploring the Other World helps us recognise what happens to “me” when there is a “you.” Do we remain ourselves? Do we adapt, perform, withdraw, control, merge, compete, caretake, or collaborate? The Other World teaches us that relationships are not simply about finding the right players. They are also about understanding who we become when we play together.
